Fairy tale retellings seem to be growing trend within young adult fiction. But with the added bonus of geekery and fandoms, Geekerella by Ashley Poston stands out among the crowds. Based on the classic tale of Cinderella, this cute and fun romance was a quick and enjoyable read. Continue reading “Review: Geekerella by Ashley Poston”→
Oh what do you know? Another subscription unboxing! This is my first time ordering from LitJoy Crate and boy am I glad that I did! Once again, I owe this all to Brie! She seriously gives the BEST bookish recommendations. It also helps that she is a rep for this company so I was also able to use her discount! Check out her Instagram bio for the code! These books. How do I even begin this review? Well first of all, I am going to completely blame two of my bookstagram buddies for my newest addiction. Brie and Becca …. what have you done to me?! I was suffering from a book slump and these came at just the perfect time. But while I am super happy for the book reading marathon that I went through to finish all five of these books in three days … I am also a little peeved because now I’m ruined. Why do these men cease to exist in real life?!

My first FairyLoot box finally arrived in the mail! This was my very first box from them after months of putting it off. I have heard nothing but good things about this bookish box, but the cost was a huge hang up for me. However, after seeing some of the teasers in regards to February’s theme, and promise of a full size candle, I knew I had to jump in. And I’m so happy I did! Continue reading “FairyLoot Unboxing!”→
Fact: you aren’t a true bookstagram unless you have a ridiculous amount of bookmarks.
It may seem like a slightly odd obsession, considering that you can realistically only use so many at once, but I can’t stop myself from buying more! The designs are spot on, and they make lovely additions to my bookstagram pictures! Continue reading “Bookmarks For Days”→
It was a stormy day back in December when I stumbled upon a picture on Bookstagram that featured an unboxing of the December box from this new-to-me company called HootLoot. I remember messaging the shop owner (Jessica – she’s amazing by the way) to see if there was anyway to get any extras. I desperately wanted something, ANYTHING, from this box. It was just that good. Unfortunately, everything was sold out, but this turn of events brought me to the HootLoot Common Room, a Facebook group that is filled with fellow bibliophiles who are obsessed with bookish boxes. Hello there! First, I would like to apologize for my absence. I was back to teaching this week and boy did I forget how draining it can be. But despite the long hours and late evenings spent lesson planning, I was still able to stumble upon a few things that kept me entertained this week. It helped that in the past three days we have received an unprecedented amount of snow (over 60 centimetres/24 inches), so I’ve been stuck inside with nothing but my books and my laptop to keep me company.
