Fact: you aren’t a true bookstagram unless you have a ridiculous amount of bookmarks.
It may seem like a slightly odd obsession, considering that you can realistically only use so many at once, but I can’t stop myself from buying more! The designs are spot on, and they make lovely additions to my bookstagram pictures! Continue reading “Bookmarks For Days”→
It was a stormy day back in December when I stumbled upon a picture on Bookstagram that featured an unboxing of the December box from this new-to-me company called HootLoot. I remember messaging the shop owner (Jessica – she’s amazing by the way) to see if there was anyway to get any extras. I desperately wanted something, ANYTHING, from this box. It was just that good. Unfortunately, everything was sold out, but this turn of events brought me to the HootLoot Common Room, a Facebook group that is filled with fellow bibliophiles who are obsessed with bookish boxes. Hello there! First, I would like to apologize for my absence. I was back to teaching this week and boy did I forget how draining it can be. But despite the long hours and late evenings spent lesson planning, I was still able to stumble upon a few things that kept me entertained this week. It helped that in the past three days we have received an unprecedented amount of snow (over 60 centimetres/24 inches), so I’ve been stuck inside with nothing but my books and my laptop to keep me company. Oh boy. Or should I say, oh Reed. Where do I even start with this review? The plot? The characters? The underage drinking? The explicit sexual references? This series read as a script for a trashy teenage soap opera. But like a car accident, I couldn’t turn away from the carnage left behind. Continue reading “Review: The Royals Trilogy by Erin Watt”→
Happy Monday all you wonderful book lovers! I hope this day has brought you many cups of coffee and some well-deserved brain breaks (where you can come and read my blog .. obviously). Since I’ve started this blog, I’ve been doing some research into what makes a blog enticing, and how to sort of step away from the masses and BE UNIQUE. I feel there are so many different sites and while some are better then others, there does seem to be the repetitive nature of posts. New books coming out, book reviews on popular series, or even just chatty blog posts. These are all great, don’t get me wrong, but I want to be different. I’ve decided that I want to create a couple new features … and this is going to be one of them! Continue reading “Weekly Wrap Up: January 16-22, 2017”→
I’ve always been somewhataware of book releases. Usually if its a hyped up series or a popular author’s newest book, I tend to keep it on my radar. However, with the birth of my bookstagram account, and my ever growing book collection, book releases have been like a drug for me. I’m addicted to checking out GoodReads and major book publishing sites to discover what books are up and coming. Reading the synopsis’ make me giddy, and it’s like a workout for my self-control when I deny myself from ordering a pre-sales! Now don’t call me an enabler, but here are my top releases from January to June, 2017! Continue reading “Anticipated 2017 YA Releases (Jan. – June)”→
We are already over two weeks into 2017, but it’s never to late to do a round of my favourite reads from 2016. I honestly read so many great books this year and I don’t want to leave any out … but to keep things manageable, here is my top 10 reads of 2016 (many spots are series – I just couldn’t bear to separate them!)
